Cobham FC 0 Worcester Park 1

This was always going to be a big game. Not only a local derby, but a clash between 1st and 3rd in the league. Cobham started brightly enough and managed to contain Worcester Park whose experienced squad know how to apply pressure. Cobham GK Lee Norman (seen here) must be singled out however, for two remarkable saves in the first half. This tight match stayed at 0-0 come half time with the home team’s forward pairing of Davis and Mbu also keeping the visitors on their toes.

Both sides started well in the second half although it was Worcester Park who finally got the better of Cobham from a corner, flicked on in the box and finished by the number 9 Cheeseman. Cobham fought back and came very close when Lewis Jackson’s short-range shot went over the bar and final score remained 0-1 to the visitors.

The match achieved the best attendance this season and was played in the right competitive spirit amongst two teams that look more than capable of playing up a division.

Cobham remain 3rd in the Combined Counties Division 1 with games in hand
